Business Privacy Notice
Last updated November 1, 2026
This notice explains what Velovid Software collects when a company uses VeChat Business, in addition to what the VeChat Privacy Policy describes. Everyone on a business's team signs in with a personal VeChat account, and the VeChat Privacy Policy covers that account. Your rights, how to use them, international transfers, security and how to contact us are the same as in the VeChat Privacy Policy and are not repeated here.
What we collect about a business
- Business details: the business name, Business ID, logo, description, category, country, address and map location, opening state and contact details you provide.
- The team: which VeChat accounts belong to the page and the role of each.
- What you publish: products, prices, photos, posts, comments and replies as the page, ads, websites and pages you list for search, and saved replies.
- Orders and conversations: orders placed with you, their status, payment links and tracking details you send, and the messages between your team and customers.
- Reviews that customers leave about you.
- The ad balance: each top-up, with the Google Play order reference and amount, and each charge. We never see or store card details.
- Results: how many times each ad, post, listing and store page was shown and tapped.
- Verification: if you apply for a badge, the information you send to show that the page belongs to the business.
How we use it
- To run your page, store, orders, ads, map pin and search listing and show them to people on VeChat.
- To review ads and listings before and after they run, and to investigate complaints.
- To charge the ad balance, keep a record of charges and deal with refunds and disputes.
- To prevent fraud, protect customers and enforce our terms.
- To send you service messages, such as the result of an ad review, a low balance or a change to these documents.
- To meet legal duties, including tax and accounting rules and requests from authorities.
In Europe and the United Kingdom, our legal bases are our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a safe and honest marketplace, and our legal obligations.
What is public
Your business name, logo, description, store, products, posts, reviews, map pin, ads and badge are public inside VeChat by design. People who see an ad can see which page paid for it. The names of the individual team members are not shown to customers, although a customer chatting with your business knows they are talking to the business.
Customer information you receive
When a VeChat user orders from you or messages you, we pass you their name, delivery address, phone number, delivery point and messages so that you can serve them. From that moment you are an independent controller of that information: you decide how you use it within the limits of the Business Terms, and you are responsible for following the privacy laws that apply to your business, including answering your customers' requests about their information. We are not responsible for what you do with it.
Who we share it with
- The public and your customers, for the things that are public by design.
- The members of your team, according to their roles.
- The companies that run VeChat for us, listed in the VeChat Privacy Policy, and Google Play for payments.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, as described in the Law Enforcement Guidelines, and consumer protection or tax authorities where we are obliged to.
- A customer or rights owner with a legitimate complaint may be given the identity and contact details of the business where the law requires us to provide them.
We do not sell information about businesses or their teams.
How long we keep it
For as long as the business exists on VeChat. When the owner deletes the business or their account, we erase the page, store, products, orders, customer chats, posts, ads, map pin, listings, team and uploaded files. The record of top-ups and charges is erased with it, and Google keeps its own record of the payments made through Google Play. We may keep records of rule violations and complaints, and any record the law requires us to keep, for as long as needed to deal with repeat abuse, legal claims and legal duties.
